Mike is an Agassiz based ecologist. He runs Pearson Ecological, a small consulting firm specializing in species at risk and aquatic habitat restoration. He holds a Ph.D. in Resource Management and Environmental Science from UBC for his work on the biology and management of two SARA listed fishes, the Salish sucker and the Nooksack dace. He continues to coordinates a variety of research, habitat restoration, and public education initiatives related to them. Most of his work occurs on private and local government lands.

Michael C. Healey

Michael C. Healey

is professor emeritus in the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability, in the Fisheries Centre, and in the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences at UBC. His research focuses on fisheries ecology, resource management science, and the role of science in public policy. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, authored over 150 other reports and articles, and edited two books on environmental and resource management issues.
